I love presents! Don’t you? Today’s Bible study is about gifts. The scripture comes from Romans 5:15-17. The verses in today’s lesson compare Adam and Jesus, specifically Adam’s sin and God’s present to us. Romans 5:15 states, “…For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.”
The following verses (16 and 17) explain that Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s gift makes us right with Him, even though we are guilty of many sins. Adam’s sin equaled death, but Jesus’ sacrifice equals the gift of righteousness (being made right with God) for all who will receive it. It is your special present to take… It is FREE for you!
The good news today is that even though we sin, even though we constantly miss the mark, even though we don’t deserve it, God loved us so much that he gave us the best present ever… the life of His son. In Romans 8:32, Paul writes, “He did not even spare his own Son but offered him up for us all. How will he not also with him grant us everything?”
God gives us many presents when we put our trust in him. One of the most awesome gifts that he gives us is a new identity of righteousness. With this gift comes the promise that all who receive this righteousness, will reign in life (Romans 5: 17).
Remember that through Christ you have a new identity; you are victorious today!!!

Love ya!
